DISD TEAMS Training

Project Description:
This online course is designed for new teachers who may need an in depth training, through online distribution of the TEAMS Pro-Logic software, the grade book and attendance submission program adopted by the Donna Independent School District.  The goal is for new teachers to completely understand how to perform basic operations such as maintaining class schedules, creating assignments, submitting grades, and taking attendance.

They key assessment is broken down into three parts:

1. Practicum Project Proposal
2. Instructional Package: Design Document and Instructional Solution  
3. Lessons Learned

Responsibility 2: Design. The candidate will design instruction (or human performance strategies) to meet the needs of learners. Design documents and projects must show evidence of analysis of problem situation, awareness of unique characteristics of intended audience and implications for instruction, selection and implementation instructional strategies consistent with analysis of the learning situation and intended learners, selection and justification of appropriate medias, and evidence of both formative and summative evaluation strategies.

2.1 Demonstrates ability to perform analysis and documentation of instructional need or opportunity resulting in student-centered, performance based instructional objectives based upon, and appropriate for, a specific audience.

2.1 The Practicum Project Proposal outlines in detail the performance analysis, intended audience, instructional goal, time lines and action plan. It provides information to demonstrate the possible viable solutions.

2.2 The Performance goal was broken down into three terminal objectives and each terminal objective is further broken down into three enabling objectives. Allowing for the instruction to facilitate learning.

2.3 The Dick & Carey instructional design model and PMBOK book were the resources used for the selection and utilization of the learning technologies incorporated in the instructional unit.

Responsibility 3: Development, Utilization and Management. The candidate will develop, utilize and manage a variety of media and instructional technologies to deliver instruction to students.

3.1 Demonstrates ability to develop instruction using a minimum of three different medias.

3.1 The Instructional solution and the Design Document were both created using Weebly, a drag and drop website builder. The project was completed using text screen captures, and multimedia videos. The programs used were Screencast-O-Matic, Camtasia, and ClassMarker. 

3.4 Uses the results of evaluation methods to revise and update instructional materials.

Responsibility 4: Evaluation. The candidate uses incisive and relevant assessment and evaluation techniques (e.g., product or project which uses formative and/or summative evaluations). Candidate demonstrates the ability to evaluate quality of instructional materials and instructional systems using appropriate methodologies. Candidate also demonstrates the ability to use formative and summative assessment methodologies to ascertain the effectiveness of instruction in meeting instructional goals.

4.1 Demonstrates ability to use formative evaluation strategies to evaluate the quality of instruction.

4.1  Formative evaluations were conducted using a One to One Trial, Small group trial, and a field trial. All feedback and suggestions were used to update and improve the Instructional Solution.

4.4 Documents results from formative evaluations and uses those results to revise instructional materials, and/or instructional development process.

Modifications Made

The corrections were made throughout the development of the instructional unit. The feedback obtained by the formative evaluations will be used to make modifications that can be seen in the training itself.
